Plan your drawer organiser from a photo

A photo is a useful starting point for a calmer drawer. The AI Layout Creator reads the visible contents, suggests matching Modu Drawer organisers, and prepares a modular layout you can adjust in the Drawer Builder.

Start your drawer layout from a photo →

Measure the inside of your drawer

Measure the usable interior depth, width and clear height in millimetres. Measure between the inside faces, rather than across the cabinet or drawer front. For height, measure from the drawer base to the lowest point above it when the drawer closes.

Enter the measurements as millimetres: a drawer that is 40 cm wide is 400 mm wide. For a walkthrough, use our drawer measuring guide.

Take a clear photo of the contents

Open the drawer fully and take a photo from above, with all four inside edges visible. Good light and a clear view help the reader distinguish similar utensils. Spread out stacked items where practical, particularly different types of forks and spoons.

Add the photo and measurements, then continue. While the photo is being read, you can describe the drawer, how you would like to use it, and what you would like to fit in it. This is optional. It is a good place to mention items missing from the photo or a preference such as keeping everyday cutlery together at the front.

Check the items and quantities

The photo reader estimates what it can see. Partly hidden objects, stacked cutlery and unusual utensils need a closer check. Review every item and quantity before generating a layout.

Select an item to edit its quantity or estimated length and width. The numbered photo markers help you connect the reading to the objects in your drawer. Add missing utensils and remove anything you do not want to include. Use the photo’s hide button when you want more room for the controls.

Measure unusually long or bulky objects before ordering. A photo cannot establish a precise physical fit.

Choose a layout and refine it in the Builder

Choose “See my layouts” to compare the available designs. The tool shows up to three distinct options; some drawers have fewer suitable options. Select a design to see its module plan and the items assigned to each organiser.

Open your chosen design in the Drawer Builder to check the modules and current price. You can move, rotate or remove modules before adding the layout to your cart. Review any items that could not be included, along with the measurements and clear height of your drawer.

Build without a photo or ask our team

If you already know the arrangement you want, open the Drawer Builder and place the modules yourself. You can also describe your drawer in words.

For help choosing an arrangement, use “Get a free custom design” on the planner. Leave your email and tell us what you would like to fit. Our team will get back to you on the next working day.

FAQs

Do I need a photo to plan my drawer?

No. You can arrange modules yourself in the Drawer Builder, or use the text-based drawer planner. You will still need the drawer’s inside measurements.

Can I change the suggested design?

Yes. Check the items before generating, then open your selected design in the Drawer Builder to adjust the arrangement.

Will my photo come back when I reload?

The planner keeps progress, including the photo, in the same browser for up to 30 days when browser storage is available. Use that browser and device to return to it. A session link alone does not transfer the photo and progress to another device. Clearing browser data or using private browsing can remove them.
