One drawer holds cling film, foil, parchment, sandwich bags, freezer bags, and the pasta strainer that doesn't fit anywhere else. The rolls roll. The bags ride up. Modu Drawer's modular wrap, foil and bag drawer organiser holds each by its own diameter — no shared compartment, no tangle.
The wrap-foil-bag drawer problem
Every kitchen has a drawer that nobody designed. It started as the cling-film drawer, then absorbed the foil, then the parchment, then the sandwich bags, then the freezer bags, then a stray colander. Now nothing in it sits flat. The cling film roll always sits on top of the foil because the foil's box won't let anything else stack on it. The sandwich bags squirm to the back. Pulling out the parchment usually pulls out the cling film with it.
The drawer is hard to organise because the contents have wildly different geometries — long rigid boxes, soft plastic envelopes, paper rolls, occasional cardboard sleeves. Most drawer organisers solve for one shape (rectangles) and ignore the rest.
Why most drawer organisers ignore long rolls
Cling film, foil, and parchment ship in long rectangular boxes — 30 to 45 cm long, 4 to 6 cm wide. Most cutlery and utility organisers run shallow compartments along the short axis, which means a 35 cm box sits across three slots and falls into the gaps between them. The roll's serrated cutter catches on the divider walls every time you pull it out.
Sandwich bags and freezer bags ship in flatter, softer cardboard sleeves — 15 to 25 cm wide, with a perforated opening at the top. They want to stand upright; lying flat, they slide and the bags spill out. A drawer organiser sized for cling film won't hold them upright; one sized for bags won't fit cling film.
The result is the chaos drawer. Most households cope by giving up on internal structure and accepting the tangle.
How modular roll-holders and bag bins solve it
Modu Drawer's grid base sizes to your drawer's internal length and width. On top of the grid, two module families handle the two geometries:
- Long-bay rests sized for the 30–45 cm rolls. Cling film, foil, parchment each get their own bay, with the box sitting along its length, not across it. The serrated cutter sits inside the bay, not catching on a divider wall.
- Upright bag bins sized for the bag-box sleeves. Sandwich bags, freezer bags, food bags stand upright in their boxes, perforated opening at the top, ready to pull from. No flattening, no spillage.
Both module types lock to the grid. Slam the drawer, the rolls don't slide. Open the drawer, the bags don't tip. Modules are food-safe PLA bioplastic, plant-derived, printed on demand in Europe.
Three configurations for a wrap-foil-bag drawer
Compact — three rolls plus one bag bin
For a medium drawer (30–45 cm wide). Three long-bay rests (cling film, foil, parchment) plus one upright bag bin (sandwich bags). Most UK kitchens fall here.
Family — three rolls plus two bag bins
For a wide drawer (over 45 cm). Three long-bay rests plus two upright bag bins (sandwich + freezer). The full wrap-foil-bag set in one drawer.
Big-batch cooking — four rolls plus three bag bins
For a wide deep drawer. Four rolls (add baking parchment for those who bake regularly) plus three bag bins (sandwich, freezer, food-bag) plus a small open bin for twist-ties or clips. The dedicated wrapping drawer for households that cook in batches.

Sizing — narrow, medium, or wide drawer?
Narrow drawer (under 30 cm)
The wrap drawer rarely fits in a narrow drawer — most cling-film boxes are 30 cm long minimum, and a narrow drawer doesn't have the length. The exception is short-roll versions sold for compact kitchens. If your drawer's internal length is under 30 cm, plan to keep the wrap drawer in a wider drawer and use the narrow one for cutlery or utensils. Browse the narrow drawer organisers collection.
Medium drawer (30–45 cm)
The natural fit. Three rolls plus one bag bin sits comfortably. Browse the medium drawer organisers collection.
Wide drawer (over 45 cm)
Full family or big-batch layouts. Three to four rolls plus two to three bag bins. Browse the wide drawer organisers collection.

Care — wipe-clean, hand-wash only
Wrap drawers stay dry by definition — the contents are sealed. Wipe-clean for the occasional crumb or grease mark. Hand-wash with mild soap for the rare deep clean. No dishwasher, no boiling water.
FAQs
How do you keep cling film, foil and bags from tangling?
Sized cells, not shared compartments. Each roll gets its own bay along the box's long axis; each bag-box stands upright in a sized bin. The tangle happens when everything shares one open compartment — if cling film and foil are touching, they'll catch each other every time you pull. Separate cells, no tangle.
What size drawer for cling film rolls?
Internal drawer length needs to be 32 cm minimum for standard 30 cm cling film boxes. Most UK kitchen drawers (35–45 cm internal length) fit fine. Compact kitchens with shorter drawers should plan for the short-roll versions of cling film and foil sold for small kitchens.
Can I keep cling film and foil in the same bay?
Technically yes, structurally no. Two boxes sharing one bay slide on each other every time the drawer opens, and the serrated cutters catch on whichever box is on top. The whole point of separating them is so each one stays still and pulls cleanly.
Where do I keep food bags vs sandwich bags?
Two separate bag bins, ideally. Food bags (heavier-gauge, often resealable) and sandwich bags (thinner, gusseted) feel similar but pull differently — the heavier bags need more grip to tear loose, and they pull harder on the box. Separate bins keep both boxes intact for longer.
