Drawer length is the front-to-back internal measurement of a kitchen drawer, measured wall to wall along the axis on which the drawer opens.
What length decides
- How many grid cells are available. Internal length helps determine the depth of the modular grid layout.
- Whether long packages fit. Compare the actual package length with the drawer's usable internal length.
- Whether long utensils fit. Measure the utensils you want to store and allow for the module that will hold them.
Common measuring mistakes
The drawer front and the internal drawer box can have different dimensions. Measure inside the drawer rather than using the cabinet face or a named cabinet size.
Drawer orientation can also vary. Identify the internal front-to-back axis of the drawer itself, then record length and width separately.
