The grid base is the foundation of a modular drawer system — a flat panel sized to your drawer's internal length and width, with a repeating grid pattern that holds modules in place. It's the difference between a tray that slides around and a system that stays put.
How the grid works
The grid base sits flush with the bottom of the drawer. Modules — fork bays, spoon bays, knife blocks, utensil rests — have matching feet that lock into the grid. They don't shift when the drawer slams, and they pop out cleanly for hand-washing.
Why grid spacing matters
Modu Drawer uses a 4 cm grid — small enough that any module footprint lands on multiple grid points, large enough that the modules feel solid. A finer grid would add print time without adding hold; a coarser grid would limit which module shapes fit.
Sizing the base to your drawer
Two measurements: internal length and internal width of your drawer in centimetres. The drawer builder takes those numbers and shows you which modules fit on the grid.
